About Richard Ehrlich
Richard Ehrlich is a playwright, composer, and author whose work explores the invisible labor that holds families together, the experience of neurodivergence, and the cost of moral endurance.
After 45 years as a dentist, Richard turned to writing full-time, completing four works for the stage and nine books in the GoYou inspirational series (written under the pen name Jack Cummings).
Richard's theatrical work examines contemporary life through multiple lenses: family duty and eldercare (THE WEIGHT), neurodiversity and ADHD (ALL AT ONCE!), mental health and euphoria (TONIC), and surveillance communities (THE BREATH). Each piece explores what it means to navigate identity, responsibility, and belonging in the modern world.
Richard writes about the moments when doing the right thing begins to collide with the life you're trying to protect. His work is characterized by sharp naturalistic dialogue, authentic representation of neurodivergent and mental health experiences, and a commitment to showing the unpolished truth of contemporary family life.
Richard is a member of the Dramatists Guild and operates GoYou Brands, LLC. He lives in New York City.
